An independent assessment of the PERS submissions is carried out by reviewers from Lloyd’s Register B.V. (Rotterdam, the Netherlands). The company has contributed to the development of the methodology. Eventually, other independent certification bodies will be approved to provide this service. The review is performed within a period of 4-6 weeks. A review report is sent confidentially to the port and the result of the review is sent to the EcoPorts Foundation.

If the result of the review is positive the Foundation Secretariat prepares a PERS Certificate. The certificate can be awarded in an official ceremony organised by the port or during an event (e.g. Conference) organised by the Foundation.
